The SETI III Temple, which is 60 meters \/ 196.9 feet long and 18 meters \/ 59.1 feet wide,\u00a0 <\/span>was originally beneath the surface of the earth. The entrance is formed by a gigantic megalithic door (H 5m \/ 16.4 ft, W 5m \/ 16.4\u00a0 <\/span>ft x D 6m \/ 19.7 ft), with 3 ceiling slabs each weighing around 50 tons.The entire interior consists of perfectly crafted and inlaid megalithic slabs of red granite. Each of the 10 monolithic columns weighs around 80 tons. It was considered to have been the tomb of Sethos on the basis of a small inscription in the exterior limestone wall (although he lay buried in the Valley of the Kings). On a stele found in 1924 near Nauri in present day Ethiopia, Sethos was renowned as the \u201cprotector and beautifier of Abydos\u201d. The complex is closed to tourists today and the floor is submerged in water.<\/p>\n
